Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court
Formally launched on 5 March 2024, uniting women judicial officers across the nine Member States and Territories.

Welcome
I am excited to welcome you to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Association of Women Judges (ECAWJ).
The ECAWJ is a group of women judicial officers from across the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court’s nine member states and territories, spanning from the unique islands of the Territory of the Virgin Islands in the north to the spice isle of Grenada in the south. We are brought together by a shared purpose: to promote a greater understanding of the legal issues facing women and girls, and to support each other in the work that we do on a daily basis.
Since our launch in March 2024, our membership has grown, and our work now reaches from the courtroom into our communities.
I wish to thank those who currently serve and have previously served as Directors and executive committee members for their service and dedication to the work of the ECAWJ. Along our journey, there are those who have assisted us in ways that we cannot ever repay.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Joi Sandiford for creating our vibrant logo, Mr. Stephen Dantes for designing the newsletter layout, and Mr. Curtis Raphael for bringing our website to life.
Finally, to our members, thank you for continuing to support the work of the ECAWJ.
Whether you are a colleague, a partner or simply curious, I invite you to journey through the pages of the website and explore the ECAWJ.

Dame Janice was the first female Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and the visionary behind a women judges’ association for the region. She was formally recognised as Patron in August 2024.
